I make this blank by taking 4 woods of contrasting colors, gluing them together then cutting them horizontally and regluing while rotating each layer. Various patterns can be created depending on the woods used, and the amount of rotation of each layer. This blank looks best with a a medium or heavy weight pen. Due to the amount of work involved in preparing the blank, it generally adds $20.00 to the cost of a pen.
